(04/24/2006) Genetics & GI Appt.

Go Back

Sorry it has been a while since we updated. We have been very busy. Our Easter ended well after Abbey got up from her nap she was in a pretty good mood. She also shot the wall with poop too. Oops! But I am sure she felt much better after that. I think she is feeling better she is able to play a little by herself I don't have to hold her all the time like I did last week. I still haven't tried to feed her baby food but I think I will give it a shot tonight. I think we all had a little of what Abbey had and it sure wasn't fun for any of us.

Well yesterday Abbey had her genetics appointment. It went well we had to be there are 7:30am and the appointment lasted for 3 hours and at the end they had to take some blood for testing it is so hard on poor Abbey I feel so bad for her. The doctor thinks that Abbey is still fussy and uncomfortable because she has reflux. It showed in the reports from her last surgery that she still has it. So she thinks she is in pain and not eating very much because of it. So she referred us to a GI doctor and it so happened that they had an opening at 2:30pm so we decided to wait and go to it. We went and had lunch with Jen and baby Luke to help time go by and then we went back to the clinic. The appointment with the GI doctor went well also, he prescribed her a stronger antacid medicine to help with the reflux and then he decided he wanted to have a few tests done also which meant they had to take more blood from poor Abigail. By the time that appointment ended it was about 4:30 (TOO LONG) and we still needed to get her prescription filled. Well they said it was going to take until 6:00 to get that done and at that point I had had enough and said NO WAY! I was ready to freak out! It was a long day and we needed to get home! So they did that first and we had it in about ½ hour. So we finally were on our way by 5:15 or so. So that was our CRAZY day yesterday and I am so glad it is over! I am sure Abigail is too. So I am hoping and praying that this is all she needs to feel better and to eat more! I will keep you posted! I need a break from doctors and everything. I am sure Abbey does too.
